reefer 350 sock ? plastic ?

I was thinking to remove the plastic "cupe, not sure how it is called" and have 2 socks instead, for better filtration
I noticed I am getting some "dirt" stuff in the refugium area it is not stopped by the plastic cup
do you recommend it?

when I had my 350
I removed the socks and added a cup and just got a big bag of floss at walmart for 8bucks and it will last a long time. So much easier than washing socks
