Today, I will place my order for a reefer 350. For the pump...either a Vectra M1 or a Reef Octopus
VARIOS-8. What is the best bet?

Do I need ANY other plumbing supplies?

I'm no pump expert, but I can tell you, you may need to buy the line for the pump. I don't know what size tank they stop supplying the return line for. My nano came with return, I helped a buddy set up a 170 and it had the return included. The 750XXL did not come with a return line.

Also welcome to R2R!!!

Ordered the 350. It will be a couple of weeks. So i will decide soon as far as the pump. Maybe even the Varios6 might be good. Will try to figure it out soon.

Thanks Hotrocks...I will read the manuals and try to get the needed pieces and not be caught flat-footed

With the many vectra headaches out there, I'd go with Varios. I just bought a Varios which is now my spare when needed.

6 or 8? Better to run a pump at 50% rather than 100%?

I went with a VarioS-6 on my 350 and honestly it's turned down pretty low, I do not have a manifold yet and I'm sure I'll crank it up by then, but I get good flow.

I have a Varios 4 on my 75 gallon tank and that is running only 3/4 speed. It puts out plenty!

It looks like I will be following your thread in order to learn the secrets.

Thanks! Mine is a pretty simple set-up and is still going through the build. My next task is mounting the Apex, controller and other items on the dry side as well as build a water mixing station with remote ATO tank in the basement.

Oh, you have a plan. Stick with it.....looks like it will be an awesome setup

The Varios-6 is plenty for the Reefer 350. My signature has my setup if you have any questions about the hardware I picked.
