Reefer 525 xl build

Anyone want to help with some ideas on piecing together a reefer 525xl or xl deluxe build? I’m following some forums and reading reviews but i will take all the input i can based off experience from others!

Trying to decide if i want to get the deluxe which comes with lights and a couple odds and ends or if i want to go basic and add on everything.

Anyone have any ideas or items they added equipment wise that worked for them?

Planning on upgrading in about 6 months ish and want to go ahead and start pricing and gathering equipment!

Hey Mordie101! I seriously considered the deluxe. And if I were a huge fan of those lights and just had to have them, it’s a good deal. Your following my build and know I have the razor X. I prefer the sleekness.

I consider the lights to be an important choice in both aesthetics and performance.

Hey Mordie101! I seriously considered the deluxe. And if I were a huge fan of those lights and just had to have them, it’s a good deal. Your following my build and know I have the razor X. I prefer the sleekness.

The main factor I considered was related to how much automation I wanted. I chose to invest in equipment to reduce maintenance chores, so I set up an Apex with DOS for automatic water changes, ATK for top off, an Avast Swabbie to automatically clean my skimmer neck, and the Avast skimmate locker so I only need to empty the skimmate every couple weeks. Good lighting, controller and doser unit and two variable speed piwerheads/wavemakers.

Light= hydra 26 or radion xr15
Controller = apex or reefkeeper
Doser= bubble magnus or jebao dp4
Pumps= jebao, current or ecotech

I am in the process of getting a different tank, this was a pretty good deal and it’s a 5ft 100 gallon tank with a 20 gallon sump! Hopefully gonna get it moved mid December and set up!!
