According to the measurements posted earlier in this thread, even the Elite 220 skimmer should allow the sump divider in the smallest refugium position. What am I missing?

I'm asking because I'm about to order the elite 220 and want to use the refugium. @Dawsokj1988
It's people wanting to run the fuge after the skimmer, not before. You can fit the elite 220 in the back portion of the sump, and have the divider up, but the fuge would come before the skimmer.

The fuge would be quite small and narrow if I ran it in the front position. I'll take a look at it and see if I like it.

Got some new gear in. I'm really liking the spacious sump.

Where did you get your automatic skimmer neck cleaner?

If you ran the skimmer in the front the fuge would be small?? If I understand from the sump measurements, you either have 9" or 4.75" width in the fist section

Be careful that the skimmer is not to big for the tank . I had to return a 200SSS Elite for the 150 it was just too big fro my XL525 . I would contact Coralvue on sizing the skimmer. The 150 is working great and pulling out alot . The 200 was just tea water every once in a while.

I think it's fine. I based the skimmer size on many successful reef tanks that are similar in size. That said, I still haven't tried it yet!

My 200 elite is about 1/2" too wide to have the fuge slat fit in the widest position. I'll get some photos when the sump dries out.

So I just realized that our tank is 3/4 inch glass all the way around. There's not very many powerheads that will work with this.

MP40 specifications: Max Tank Thickness: 0.75 inches (19 mm)

MP60 specifications: Tank Thickness Range: 0.375 -1.00 inch (9.5 – 26 mm)

yeah.. I've heard people having issues with the mp40's falling off of 3/4 inch thick glass. Anyone have success with this?

I would do two mp 60 if I had it to do over again. I'm going to have to add a gyre to the side and the 40s in the back wall. Was just looking that as I'm filling the tank now and have one 40 going in the tank with some salt being slowly added.

Well after some digging, I've read multiple people running the mp40's on 3/4 inch thick glass with no issues. I'm planning on doing 6 MP40's on the back glass, with 3 on each side. I know that sounds bizarre, but it would provide the cleanest look.

I already have two for the 350, and I just bought two. So I'll try out 4 for a bit, and see if i need 2 more. @TX_Punisher did you fill up the tank all the way?

Today I'm putting my stand together. So far is coming along nicely. Even though I'm in the very beginning. Anyone who has theirs together already, do you have any tips or thins I should be aware of?
