Reefer831's Eye Candy!!!!!

Drool....
:) Thanks! time for you to make a video :)
How do you keep those chalices colored up like that with all the light! Amazing
Its a struggle keeping a mixed tank...its all about finding the perfect spots ...most of those are being shaded
Beautiful
Thanks you!
Awesome video man, do you target feed the chalices?
I did years ago...but who has time for all that these days :) I have a ton of fish, so I just feed them a ton, and let them feed the coral...I do 5 gallon W/C every other day
Love how the space invader is farther away from every other coral in the tank :)
hahah..yeah that one is in the corner on time out since it cant play nice ;) just up until a few days ago when I cleaned out the clutter from my display it was stuck behind my scape lol

My chalices have always just slowly receded until they withered away, any tips? Mixing chalices and SPS has always been a challenge for me.

Excelente felicidades
Thanks!

No real tricks for me… It's just all about finding the right spot for them and designing a scape for what you plan to keep... Also I keep a high nutrient tank so that helps keep the color.
so pretty.
Thanks!

I just spent most of my free time the last three days going through your entire thread. Amazing tank, photos and videos, and I am ENVIOUS of your livestock! A couple of questions I have for you, I apologize if they've already been addressed and I missed it.
1) are you using any form of carbon dosing?
2) I saw you dose b-ionic via BM doser. Would you mind sharing your Ca, dKH, and Mg levels with us? Your growth on SPS and colors crazy!
3) have you had difficulties keeping certain species/groups with nitrates at 10-20?
Insanely awesome thread! Thanks in advance for your replies!

My Nuvo 38...its the tank I keep the stuff that didn't make it to the display I am about to take it down soon and redo the scape so I though I should take a pic first:)

Thanks! I'm glad you enjoyed the thread and I appreciate the questions and comments...
I use BRS carbon and GFO in a reactor
I keep my ALK at 8 my cal between 450-500..mag is always high
I do a 5 gallon water change every other day on a 120..and also have a huge Atb 1050 skimmer... I feed a lot of different types of foods so I have a high nutrient import and export... I noticed when the waters to clean I don't have as rich colors

I have a 150 MHs and 2 t5s..also a blue Reefbright XHO
Amazing tank and Amazing pictures! Me and the Mrs got married in Monterey last fall, we love it up there.
Thanks! Yeah I'm very fortunate to live where I'm at but I do pay for it and the price of living ;) I just wish the ocean was a little bit warmer over here :)

wow hope u recover fast man
Thanks! This happened over a month ago and things are starting to come back.. It wasn't a complete loss but everything definitely took a huge hit.
Dang Andy that sucks... I'm going through a major crash right now and I don't have time to try and fix it even...
Yeah that's how I was at first I didn't even want to sign on anymore because I didn't want to see all the bad stuff... All it takes is a few minutes just push yourself bro… You will be amazed how quickly things want to come back and survive.
I'm sorry to hear of both of your troubles! Are either of you in the bay area? I'll help if I can!
I'm in the Bay Area but Skinz is not... I appreciate the offer but I got most of the stuff turning around for me now... I'm glad I didn't give up I know how Chris is feeling... Trust me I was very close to just taking a break for a while...

And to top it all off my power was out for 6 hours today and when it came back on I wasn't home and the skimmer overflowed all over the floor.. I hate this hobby some times...

Man you are getting it bad... I did the same thing the other day when I was doing a water change... I was trying to watch the giants game and do the change at the same time... Something happened and I got into the game and forgot that I was pumping out water... Pumped out about 40 gallons onto my floor... Talk about a mess!!!

I scored this last week from my buddy who was taking down his tank... It originally came from one of the legendary carpet nem keepers who picked it up in 08... It's gone through two other system since then and now is in my tank.. I'm super happy I was the one that got it… When my buddy got it about three years ago I was begging him for it back then... They are known to be extremely finicky and hard to keep alive especially during the acclamation period...
Magnificent Nem...
Only have an iPhone pic for now
