So I dosed 6 pills of Reef HD for my 40B + 20Sump for a light Bryopsis outbreak.

I forgot to do a water change before hand and I was wondering if I do a water change now (3 days in) can I just dose again for the amount of water changed?

I’ve never heard of Reef HD, but I dosed flucnazole that way..

Same thing from what I know. So doing a water change and redosing accordingly wont mess up my results you think?

Also where do you get normal flucnazole since it's prescription only

I use Reef Flux Reef HD. You only would need to do a water if your Phosphate and nitrates become a nutrients problem of to high. Just monitor them for now. This will happen from the die off of the bryopsis. It doesn't instantly work. So you have a few days. If you have the normal bryopsis it should take about 14-15 days. Just make sure your collection cup is up and ALL chemical medias are removed during the dosing of the tank minute 1 of doing the treatment, because you do not want to pull any of the medication out.
Since you would have 4 pills left of your bottle. That allows you to do up to 40g of water change. 1 pill per 10 gallons if you need to do a water change.
I left Phosguard in and heard it was okay. Then after the treatment I found out from Jose Mayo it may not be, but my bryopsis algae is the hardest one to get rid of. Which takes 6 weeks instead of the 14 day one. Lucky me! Here is what even the tuff stuff to get rid of looks like after 3 days. Hope this helps. My other videos are on my YouTube channel 40B Knasty to show progressions.

Yikes my Bryopsis probably isn't even 1% of the amount in your video.
I just turned my skimmer off completely after dosing. That should be fine right?
I also have a DIY felt filter sock. I had a 100micron on when I initially dosed and that worried me because I was like crap all the medication probably got stuck in there. I'm noticing a lot of Bryopsis die off in the sump tho and the DT is starting to have die off too. So I suppose the 100 micron sock didnt suck it all out

I'll start monitoring Phosphates and nitrates more closely during the medication period.

You want the skimmer running because all the equipment you have online my have the spores of the bryopsis on it. Say it sits in the skimmer and grows. You turn it back on. You now would have to remedicate the tank again. Plus the skimmer is good for pumping O².
And you are correct about my tank having a lot. Only 3 weeks and bam! Absolutely covered!

Okay that's logical, so i want it on but not skimming into the cup right because i don't want it extracting medicine.
Very nice, congratulations on the war success haha!

Ohhh I haven't won the war twice now. Like I said my bryopsis is the 6 week kind. So it is back. I didn't find out what kind mine was till after the 2nd dosing. Which is fine, because there was so much of it and the GHA. It was kind of expected and I am cool with that, because there was so much die off to be had of the GHA & bryopsis. A removal of in stages is probably best to get one issue fully out of the way and a lot of the bryopsis out too, but not bomb my tank with so much die off that the cyanobacteria would have been double of what I am dealing with now. With that 2nd dose it really got at the GHA and killed that off. So at least that is gone for now. BTW you might get a cyanobacteria from this. So don't get freaked out if it happens. I am not the first or last case of that happening after trying kill bryopsis off.
I am using my mixing pump to clean up 2 rocks for my Tigger Pod tank. So I haven't done a water change in 2 weeks. I am probably going to buy a new Cobalt MJ1200 tomorrow and get a water change in and get to the 6 week treatment.

Yikes, that really sounds like a nightmare..

Na man. Take everything in strides. The ocean is naturally full of everything we can get in a tank. So expect the expected
