Tough one. Probably depends what your plans are for corals? Mainly SPS, mixed reef, LPS and softies? Will your aquascape be open or wall of rock? Do you mind if you have dimmer areas in the corners or ends?

For reference, I have 2 Duo Extremes over my RSR525XL (59 X 22 X 22.6), mounted axially with the long axis of the tank. I have a mixed reef, with fairly open aquascape, and get some dimmer lighting on the ends and corners at the bottom, but don't mind, since that's where I put the lower light corals. You can see shots of my system in my build thread. I would think you need a minimum of 3 Duo Extremes mounted perpendicular to the long axis of your tank if you plan to have any SPS. You might need 4 to completely cover that footprint.

this is the current stacki plan in using it will be a mix reef

ADORE them! I switched out a Radion/T5 combo about a week ago.

The customer service is great.
The light is fabulous. Like sun streaming down.
The blues blow my mind.
Way more than enough par for just about anyone.
Very easy to set up.

Here is their answer to my tank size question.

Max coverage with 2 Extremes depends on the type of corals you want to keep. For softies/LPS, 2 Extremes can cover 72", 60" for mix, and 48" for SPS.

Another resource that ReeFi owners can use is the Facebook group. Users are making requests there and seeing the firmware updated with new features in real time. Customer service, bar none!

Nice, just updated my firmware. I don't do Facebook, has anyone requested a notification on the web interface to alert when a new FW is available?

Really interested in the extremes. Also came up with a way to add them to my hybrid. Think it will work great using the black anodized aluminum mounted through the middle of the hybrid fixture

I'll think you'll like the Extremes. Just make sure they have good ventilation/air circulation (same is true for any LED fixture.)
