Reefi Uno 2.0 over 40 gallon tank?

Hi guys so I recently got a new tank it's the innovative marine 40l fusion 2 the dimensions are 35 long x 19 wide x 13 deep. I was wondering if the Reefi Uno 2.0 would be a good options for this tank? I want some sps at the top and some lps too. Always how does the lighting look compared to xr30? Thanks..

3 foot is a tough length to light with a single LED fixture.

The Reefi has the power to do it. You would just raise the fixture until you get the coverage and crank up the percentage for the PAR you want. The downside would be light spill out the front and back.

idk if i would do reefi for this long of a tank. Look at reef bars like ai blade, orphek or3, quanta etc. You could probably light the tank for slightly cheaper and not have nearly the amount of light spill

It’s funny, but my first response was going to be a mix of Quanta Pro bars and call it a day, but figured the OP wanted some control? But I think in the long run, I would start with the Reefi and plan to add some Quantas down the road.

orphek did just introduce their control system to add on if they wanted full control over the bars. I think ai blade has some too but i havent seen them in person yet and i dont know if their lack of extra colored leds is gonna impact viewing. Par numbers of all led bars are great now, with ai i think having some of the best numbers but that is due to them using primarily leds that focus on getting better par and less for viewing pleasure imo

just too much light spill and/or shadowed ends of the tank. Wont impact life in the tank but could be annoying and a problem if the light is in a room with a tv or something

One thing that isn't being mentioned is the possibility of upgrading displays. Assuming one takes care of their equipment you can always move it to the next display. Lighting is somewhat expensive depending on product purchased.

Also positional mounting and canopy will help reduce light spill.

Above all the 40 breeder is a great size display. Considering what sort of aquascape you are going to have. Also what corals. Don't go easy mode and just say everything and mixed reef but rather give it some thought of what motovates you and stimulates. Lighting plays a factor.

You have plenty of options with a few different price points. I personally like to buy with an upgrade in mind regardless how many times I say it won't happen. Saves me in the long run.

What would you recommend for other options for lighting? This tank I want a pretty heavy sps garden but also a little goni garden on the side I kind of have it somewhat planned in my head right now.

If I ever put together an all LED tank again, it will be Quanta bars and maybe a couple Kessil’s for shimmer, but I could easily just use a mix of Meso blues and tropic sun and call it a day. I think you could start with 3 bars to start, but 4 would probably take you all the way. @Lousybreed can guide you on what mix and how many.

Personally, if you're going to have multiple LED fixtures and you like the Reefis, I would get 2 Unos before using 1 Uno and multiple bars.

If you like Kessils, they have good options for a 3 foot 40 gallon. An APX would cover it. 2 x 360s would do it. 3 x 160s might actually be the best option, especially with the tank only 13" deep.
