Hello!

I am in the market for a new light set up for a 4ft tank. Currently, I am debating between 4 Kessil a360x fixtures or 4 Reefi Uno fixtures. I'd set them both up with the Reef Brite Quads.

This will be a lot of light and will need to be dimmed, but the plan is to have some solid coverage.

Does anyone have pictures/videos of the Kessil and/or Reefi Uno? How do they look, what's the shimmer like on the Uno (Kessil is certainly strong here), how's the spread?

I'm hoping to gather feedback which can help guide me in the right direction. I appreciate your time!!!

The Stratons were a little spwndy, but I'm looking into reviews on them now. Thank you.
2 stratons = 2200 3 a360x = 1500 = 3700

4 a360x = 2000 + reefbrite quad = 1040 = 3040

yeah, maybe just go 2 A360X to bring it to 3200. i personally think its worth the extra cost, the stratons are top of the line IMO

or, if you dont mind a more 10K daylight look, the coralcare gen 2 are on clearance for dirt cheap (550) right now. you could go 2 (or even 3) of them and 3 a360x which could even get you more blue. i'd highly consider this as well

Thank you for the recommendation! I'm digging in now.

I have 2 kessil A360x and a reef brite actinic xho on my 4 foot tank. Love the shimmer. Getting good growth in acros, other sps, and euphyllia seem to do well.

4 A360X alone over a 4' tank would be a TON of light. Just make sure you don't roast your coral when you get things up and running.

With regards to your lighting choice, we're a bit biased so we won't chime in on that one... Just let us know if you've got questions we can answer and we're more than happy to help

Thank you again for sharing your experience and the wonderful picture.
Any idea what the PAR is with the Kessil/Reef Brite combo?

How many Reef Brites do you have?

Thank you!! I couldn't imagine which option you'd be leaning towards.

My goal is to combat shadows, but I do plan to turn the intensity down while verifying with an Apogee 510 - though, good advice is good advice!!

Maybe it's a silly question, because, you know, "you're" Kessil (figuratively speaking). What would the shadowing look like on a 4ft tank with only four A360X fixtures? I'm looking into fill light (t5 or Reef Brites), but if you don't think it would be needed, I'm curious to hear about it.

Either way, thank you for jumping in. I appreciate companies taking an interest in perspective clients.

Only 1 reef brite strip. At peak lighting, the kessils are at 70%. PAR at the top 8 inches is around 300 directly underneath the kessils and only drops to around 280 at the edge of the tank. PAR is around 160 at the bottom of the tank and is pretty consistent throughout the entire bottom.

Wow, that's great spread. Thank you. I'd have guessed a bigger disparity in the numbers with the two fixtures. Do you have them mounted an equal distance in the tank?

Kessils are each centered over a 2’ x 2’ area of tank and the reef brite is at the front of the tank and is angled towards the back of the tank. Kessils are 8” above the water. Reef brite is 4” above the water.
