What's one area of reefing that you doubt yourself in?

Maybe it's something hard for you to learn or you just haven't had the time or will to want to understand it better.

2 things for me, sumps. Just don't get it. All the plumbing, the tuning, the possibility of issues. I'm all AIO, 5 tanks worth.

And second is the apex controller, I have one, and am using it, but I certainly don't understand it. Confuses me.

Very good question! I more or less have doubt in my ability to effectively help others sometimes. I haven’t really tested my reefing limits yet, just making small improvements over time. Things do happen that make me question my ability, however. But I’ve learned that EVERY reefer has issues eventually. The real judgement is how you recover, learn, and move on.

Chemistry! I don’t care to learn it either haha! I know the good numbers and what to aim for! Also know what to use to get there!
Right there with you. I appreciate those that can understand it because for me it makes absolutely no since haha

I was always more of a physics person. Though that was in high school and college.

Now, I’m more of a ham sandwhich and can’t seem to wrap my head around simple ideas.

Chemistry has always made my head hurt. I understand it at a very basic level. But past that it’s like trying to teach it to a monkey.

kalkwasser & carx reactor both seem too complicated for me. i'm still manually dosing, which is a pain.

reef chemistry. aside from the usual ALK/CAL, no3/po4, i don't really understand much of anything else (in terms of what reacts with what, or too much/little of this causes "precipitate", etc)

Lightning for me.
I have the same 10 year old T5 fixture.
I've tried some LED but I don't understand it and don't like it but want to understand.

Being physically able to care for my reef. I started by buying my tank in October 2019. It took me 18 months to get it onto the stand (August 2021), a year to get rock work made and installed (2022), then fix the top off issue this past summer. I’m almost ready to add life and my knees go out on me, making walking a challenge. I’m not sure I will ever get this reef going because I worry about maintaining it every week,
