Hey, I work for a software company and every year we have a hackweek. This year I'd like to combine work and hobby and build something that helps reefers out. What's something you wish you had (website, app, feature) that you don't now?

A dosing app would be useful , set up like a calculator to where you put in the gallons you have in the tank and you enter a current value say like alk and what your desired level goal is then it would precisely tell you how much you need to add in ml etc same with cal , mag , lanthanum chloride , etc.

We have that
And
Also pretty sure for lanthium can be found.

I would like to have a better UI for an Neptune Apex system for Multi-Tanks (one brain multiple modules)
Sadly there isn't an API so anything built would be suuuper fragile.

Something that scans the barcode/label of an additive bottle/powder and gives you unified dosing instructions, comparable strength across brands, price per standard dose/ per your own personalized dosing year calculator.

These are both interesting and doable!

Nice!!! thanks now I can save brain cells for something more enjoyable lol !!!

I've fallen a little too out of touch with coding to have a sense for how easy or difficult this would be but here goes.
I want when I'm reading a scientific article that lists all of the chemical species in micromolar or nanomolar to be able to Mouse over or tap the number and have a pop-up express it in ppm, ppb Etc.
And vice versa, I want to be able to look at a forum post or an ICP report that lists things in ppm or ppb, and be able to Mouse over or tap the number and have it pop up the micromolar nanomolar Etc equivalent. The software would have to be able to read back in the text a certain distance to identify the correct chemical species that the number refers to in order to do the calculation.

Figuring out how much Rock and Sand is in a system is actually hard to do if you didn't think measure when you put it in in the first place. I have no idea how good the guess 10% or 20% rules of thumb actually are.
Software that lets me input two or three pictures of the tank from different angles and one or two measured dimensions of a side or two of the aquarium. Estimate Rock + sand volume from those inputs.
