ReefKeeper Elite v2 w/net Help Please!

I just bought the unit and all I get on the lcd of the head unit is a black bar across the top of the screen,nothing else
Is my unit defective?

Is the unit hooked up to the powerbar? Have you tried turning it on and than off again?

You may be able to find help here also....

yep tried hooking it up several ways,
instructions say no wrong way to wire it up, same result no matter how its wired,
can someone who owns one tell me when it is first pluged in what is on the screen?
i plug in the head unit logo flashes across the screen then all i have is a thin line across the top of the screen,dosent matter what button i push nothing happens

You have a damaged unit. If it is used someone dropped it. If it is not then its a defect from the mfg

sounds defective to me. I have had my rke for years. Never an issue with mine. Never had it do that either.

Was the RKE headunit upgraded to V2? and are all your modules (PC4, SL1 etc) all up to the same level of code or the newest? this would be done via MyReef. If MyReef doesnt see the RKE I would say it is bad. If it does I would try upgrading to the latest Firmware.

It is a V2 ,there is no usb cord so is it linked to myreef thru the net module?

To connect the system to MyReef you would need the SID v2, a USB to Mini-USB cable and a bus cable to plugin to each device. If you are going to update the firmware it has to be the only thing plugged into the bus cable. (All other modules would need to be disconnected except the one you are updating).

Ok got almost all the bugs worked out now,Had to update all the modules, Seem to be working fine now.
thanks for all the help,Digital Aquatics could at least give u a software disk with the manuals on it for the money spent

I apologize, I have been working 12 hour days since I got back from vacation. Glad to hear that it is working for you!

They used to include a hard copy of the manual, but not sure if they are doing that anymore. They should at least include that...
