I have a ReefKeeper lite basic. I'm trying to install a new PB4.

I plugged it in and turned everything on and my temp probe was rapidly showing a difference in temp of 0.1°. That caused the primary heat circuit to be rapidly switched off and on.

I plugged the display into bus port 1 on the original PC4 then the jumper from bus port 2 to bus port 1 on the new PB4. And finally the temp probe into bus port 2 on the PB4. Is this correct?

There is no order to which bus you need to plug the units togather. As long as they are connected together off of eachother bus ports you are fine.
Let me understand you better.
So you are saying temp probe is switching temp by 0.1 and that keeps heater/chiller to keep turning on and off?
If that's the case then under your heater/chiller setting there is a value probably set to 0. Check under hysteresis
And set its value at 0.3.
Now if you have your heater set at 78
Rk will only turn heater on when temp goes below 77.7 and off at 78.3.
Now you have a window of 0.3 +,- so your port won't be triggered so rapidly.

I have my heater to come on at below 79°. The heater works seamlessly when only connected to the single PC4 that came w/.
When I hook the PB4 in it then begins to search. I noticed that the amperage was jumping around also. Can't remember what the exact values for amperage we're but they were changing by 1 or 2 tenths along with the temp, and the heater circuit turning on and off.

So. I talked with Digital Aquatics and they were quite helpful. They suggested I plug the PB4 into the daisy chain between the head unit and the PC4.
That solved my problem.
