Perhaps it's not too exciting for many but for the first time I was able to successfully treat a sick fish
After all the times of fish vanishing or dying in the rockwork, being unable to catch them, not having a sick tank available, or the fish being too far gone I finally had one go right!
I came home after work last week and noticed one of my clowns having trouble swimming and breathing. By the time I set my things down and came back to look at him, he was wedged upside down against a rock, breathing heavily. I noticed what appeared to be lesions on his sides as well. After a quick, frantic search of the fish disease section (a huge thank you to everyone who has posted guides there!) it was quite obviously Brooklynella.
I had enough nsw on hand to fill my sick tank quickly and got a fw dip ready to go. Amazingly, I was able to scoop the clown out with no fuss and got him into the fw. Once he was into the sick tank I ran to my LFS and was able to pick up some Quick Cure. Following the advice of threads by humblefish and others I'm happy to say the treatment appears to have been effective and he's now running through a metro treatment for another week or so.
Like I said, perhaps not the most exciting thing in reefing, but, to me, finally having success in the diagnosis and treatment of a fishy friend feels like a huge milestone.
