I installed my reefbot today. So far I am using api nitrate, giesemann po4, and salifert alk.

Po4 didnt work. Nitrate read zero which seems accurate. Alk read 3.2 then 4.5 then 3.7.... so that is def off. Tested all with my Hanna checker and it read 7.55. Not sure what is going on..any advice for me is greatly appreciated!

Also the hole that the syringe fits through is too small and I had to shave the syringe tip with a blade to get it to fit.

I'm in a similar boat. Received mine yesterday as well, had trouble with the syringe, but ultimately got it to fit, and my readings are also low.

Using Red Sea alk in the Reefbot, I got 2 readings of 5.3, so it's consistent, but Hanna reads 6.7. API calcium read 360, whereas Red Sea manual test gave 420. My Alk has been dropping, so I've been upping my dosing (Triton), but I'm sure it isn't 5.3 since my corals look good, and wouldn't if alk was that low.

I will try to manually run Red Sea alk and API calcium tonight to see if I get similar results to the Reefbot. It could be old test kits. I haven't used either much lately. They're not expired, but who knows.

Please add stirrers to both rinsing chamber and testing chamber.
Make sure that the water is getting to the testing chamber.

I absolutely will. Just wanted to give others an update. I have another suspicion of what's causing the problem that I will test tonight.

Everyone that is having issues, make sure you calibrate both the test and ro viles. I had similar issues until I did that process a few times. I also used one of the API test vials to verify 5ml since the provided measurement tool isn’t perfect. Use that vial to verify after doing the process a few times.

I did calibrate both, though only once. I'll try again tonight when I get home. Out of curiosity, are you using the RedSea alk test? I watched the test being done yesterday and I noticed that it does a single initial dose of reagent, then refills the syringe and titrates. My suspicion is that the initial dose is off. RedSea starts their test scale at 0.38 ml (equal to 0.53 dKH which coincidentally is what Reefbot is reporting my alkalinity to be). My test results show that one drop was the end point for the test, so they must have intended to do the first dose to 0.36 ml, then titrate from there. If the initial dose is too high, however, the entire scale would be off. I'm going to watch more closely tonight to see where the initial dose fills to on the syringe. Once I verify or refute my suspicion tonight I will submit a support ticket.

FWIW, the Reefbot is VERY consistent. It's now given me 3 straight reading of 5.3 dKH.

Agreed. Unfortunately, right now, I'm off by >1 dKH (5.3 reefbot vs. 6.7 Hanna). I'd like to get to the bottom of it. Can you confirm that yours does the double dose of reagent with the Red Sea test?

Same for me. RedSea is 0.3 dkh lower than Hanna for me, consistently.

Anyone have any idea what po4 test manufacturers are being tested for future use and when they will be available?

On another note if an alk test is consistant the number shouldnt matter much. I would think stability is more important than anything else. Just my 2 cents

Just wanted to update this thread. RK fixed everything for me. The beauty of this device is that it's an IOT device. RK updated the calibration on the fly, and now I'm getting consistent, good readings. Kudos to their support team. I'm really glad I made this investment.
