Hello everybody,

I would like to ask for your help with the setup of a Red Sea Reef LED 50.

My tank has the following dimensions: 40cm(length) x 30cm x 30cm.

Today I have SPS (less demanding) corals, LPS and softs.

What light power do you recommend me to have a suitable PAR for this aquarium? If I use it at full power can I harm the corals?

I would try around 45% blue and somewhere between 10 - 25% white depending on what looks best to you.

EDIT: I run my blue at 45% max on a 42cm x 42cm x 42cm cube mixed reef and have great growth and color. Keeping SPS in the top half and LPS in the slightly under the half way mark.

Thanks a lot for the help.

Today I use my luminaria in 80% blue and 20% white. But I feel like I might be exaggerating the potency.

I noticed that my montipora capricornis is growing with the ends down, I had the impression that it might be running away from the light. Is it possible that this light is bothering the corals?

I'll try to put a light configuration similar to yours.

thank you so much.

It's definitely possible for corals to get too much light. Whether that's happening in your tank or not would require a par meter to determine.
