Looking for a little insight on reeflink. I recently have purchased radions and mp40w. I do not have a controller and was wondering if it is worth purchasing. I haven't even messed with the lighting yet so really have no idea how much will need to adjust them once on the tank. Thanks

Unless you have an apex or another controller I would get the reeflink. I had the lights first also, thought I would be able to control lights through the computer. Didn't happen. Once I got the reeflink, very easy to set up and control lighting program through laptop and phone. Glad I got it.

I had some problems with mine when I first got it but firmware updates have fixed that. Pretty dependable. I only use mine for my MP40's, MP10's as I have AI lights. Love being able to program the MP's to switch to different modes and speeds at different times of the day.

Go with the reef link. You are able to download other users templates or customize your own. The acclimation feature is great. Any time I add a new coral, I use the acclimation function to gradually ramp the lighting back up. Fortunately many coral experts and propagators post their lighting templates. These can be geared towards the type of corals you are trying to raise. Controlling the Vortex MP's is awesome. Water movement changes through out the day. Multiple MP's can be synced together. I have an Apex controller but leave the lighting to ecosmart live. At first I thought it was kind of gimmicky with the Thunderstorm and Disco mode. But after playing with system for 6 months, the usuable features are great. Good luck.

If you change your settings on your lights and pumps often then yes it is. Otherwise, it is just a waste for a 1-3 time use. I personally only used it once when I did have Radions and vortech pumps.

Also, Radions come with a usb for connection to a laptop for configuration. If you plan on just setting and forgetting then that is your best option. For the pumps, they communicate wirelessly for anti-sync out the box. If you want to customize the flow patterns then the reef link would be the way to go.

Thank you I hope to get set up and let it ride but with making the change to led from t5 thinking will probably take a bit and if led gets heat down will be going from 1 vortech,2 koralia(1 is currently dead)and return pump from chiller to 2 vortechs so having a little more control maybe needed
