Reeflo barracuda above water source?

I have a silly question. Will this pump water if the source is below the pump? Will it need primed? This is an old pump that I was going to use for household project not reef tank related...

Water level has to be above the suction side of the pump or it will cavitate.

Even if primed? I’m trying to pump water out of the lake behind my house.

Will it work, probably, it will need priming every time the pump shuts off though which would be a huge pain... does Reeflo specifically state not to set there pumps up this way, yes...
