Reeflo Blowhole pumps who uses them?

This is making me think of going a different direction as well. The thread may be old but I am living the Trident III issue now.

Research the Iwaki pumps. There are hobbyists who claim to have used them 30 years straight on their system. No seals, no leaks...

They're probably the most expensive though since they're made in Japan.

I was set on a reeflo dart until I started reading people's experiences

It is however I need something that can handle 14ft of head pressure.

If you run the pump outside of the sump/ filtration can you reduce the HP? Mags I think have the same problem as well, there is two models of the jebao if that helps, and the newer version (2014) might solve your problem?

Iwaki=reliability

I know this is an old thread, but I chose Iwaki over reeflo. I think Iwaki from all my reading is by far better quality.

Haha, what size system do you run it on? I think I over killed my 180 with the 70rlt

Its a 135 gallons with a remote sump, with total capacity of around 200 gallons, on some higher end wild SPS. Its a relatively newer build. (Hurricane Sandy polished off the last tank.) Our plan is to expand our fish room to include a couple of frag tanks, and maybe culture some clams. With that we expect to 'up' our return pump flow rate with a 100rlt that has been laying as back-up, so we can use the 55 rlt to drive a new MTC HSA 1000 skimmer that Jeff is building for us in NJ.
