Hello,

I recently cleaned my external return pump and found corrosion and broken spring inside.

I found after disassembly the main shaft had corroded at the impeller and the spring that creates the seal has lost tension. The pump has been operational for 1.5 years and I was wondering if anyone else has experienced this issue with Reeflo return pumps?

I did order a new DC pump which I am happy to get in, but in the mean time I have a decent leak coming from the old pump until the new one arrives.

I have used ReeFlo pumps in the past (old Darts) and the shaft seals eventually wear out. 1½ - 2 years is about what I got out of them. NOt too hard to change. I used to order seal kits from ReeFlo, but I looked and don't see a "Goby" listed. I haven't used them for a while, so I am not as familiar with them as I used to be. Could be that the seals are the same as another model. You should contact them and see what is available. http://reeflopumps.com/parts.html

Or, you can send it in for repair... http://reeflopumps.com/pump-repair.html

Thank you, I appreciate the help and will be sending this pump out for repair.
