just bought a reefmat 1200 fleece roller my question would be as far as nutrientuptake will this help remove phosphates and nitrates

The short answer is yes, but the amount can vary depending on your bio load. Myself, my nutrient level didn't drop - but I have a very high fish count and I went from 50-micron filter socks to 200-micron fleece (so it was basically a wash).

So what would be the best thing to do to control phosphate and nitrate could do a refugium again but have short term succes but eventually it dies

You could setup a media reactor with GFO, or biopellets. Or also, liquid carbon dosing

I have the same roller and no changes in parameters. Big savings in socks and time! After the first month or so it has settle to about 41" per day, I use Nopox more so to keep nitrate dialed in.

I tried Nopox for a good while and while it initially brought down my phosphate, my tank never really liked it. Corals weren’t as happy.

Were you monitoring nitrate? It usually drops far faster than phosphate when dosing organic carbon.

yes i have its 18.5 on my hanna checker

Did the NOPOX dosing reduce it?

I've not seen many claims that organic carbon dosing negatively impacted corals without nutrients getting too low, but it's not impossible to imagine a scenario with a pathogenic bacteria feeding on the organics and impacting the coral.

saw no difference used 90 proof vodka for now till i install the rollermat might go with a refugium or bio pellet reactor need to make space underneath my sump

I sure was. Can’t remember what the values were, this was some time back, but everything was in range.
I saw a dramatic difference after I stopped using it and just never used it again.
chaeto works better for me
