So I'm ready to start the sump modification to remove filter socks from my XL 425v3 but something is not clear.

In the official video here:

They have the same sump as me but he removes both refugium baffle holders. Is this correct?
How are you supposed to carry on using the refugium if you remove the holder?

On the official diagrams here it is not clear but looks to me like only one baffle holder was removed (parts removed in yellow):

Another question is, what type of glue do you need to glue the fitting to the PVC pipe? Do you need full blown primer + cement or simpler as no pressure?

When I retrofitted my 750XXL v3 sump I left the far refugium holder in place and only removed the center one (you can't fit the ReefMat 500 when the refugium panel is in the center position anyway).

I used ABS cement to attach the adapter. I posted a thread in the Red Sea forum with some fittings you can get from Home Depot to allow you to screw the adapter on or off.

Here's the link (didn't have it handy on my iPad).

Thanks again. I took the plunge today after weeks of planning.

Made the screw adapter same as you:

Finally all connected:

I managed to cut myself on both hands while removing the socks section. Not the most fun task I’ve done in this hobby. Plug&Play logo on the box made me slightly mad.

@Julbra Clean install for sure. I'm shocked on the plug in play. They must be referring to the G2 systems.

Looks great - nice work! (I cut my fingers too - think it was along one of the glass sections that held the filter sock trays).
