Hey guys. It’s been a while since I posted. I have a Red Sea 625 xxl g2 tank and sump. Currently running the Red Sea 600 skimmer. I only have 2 filter socks and I feed fairly heavy. One full sheet of nori a day and flake, and frozen . Basically 3 times a day plus dosing Red Sea ab+. Nutrients nd phosphate are fairly high and starting to get Dino and or diatoms, not sure which. I was thinking of getting a Reefmat to help pull out nutrients and get some additional mechanical filtration. I watched a few vids on them but I noticed in the videos that they were all clean and seemed more like marketing to me. So I was wondering if anyone has actually used one and has an honest report or critique of them. Thanks for the input. Happy reefing!

love mine i got the 500. only problem i had was that about 3 months in had to get a new motor from red sea cause mine kept throwing a code saying i put the filter roll in wrong. which was incorrect.

How was the customer service, did you have to pay for the motor seeing how it was fairly new yet when it went out?

customer service was very good. did not have to pay for anything. got to keep the old motor as well.

I have a Red Sea Reefer (300 XL) and a ReefMat 500. I got the reefmat for convenience so that I didn't have to change filter socks out every few days and also in hopes that it would keep the water level a little more constant in my sump. I've been happy with it so far, but only have had it a few months. I would say I go through fleece at a much faster rate than I expected, but otherwise have no complaints.
