ReefMat retrofitting on peninsula 500

Just curious about what everyone is doing with the missing silicone bead around the old baffles after removing the sock holders when retrofitting for the ReefMat?

Seems like a lot of sealant removed for me. Do you add silicone?

I watched the Red Sea video and I don't believe it mentioned anything about these spots where the baffles are removed or what to do with it - or did I miss it?

I have a dry sump but want to start testing for leaks.

I cut down to the main silicone seam for the sump on the side and bottom, then used my fingers to just peel off the secondary black silicone that was added in the middle for the trays (this was on a 750XXL).

So sump has been holding water just fine if anyone has the same concern. OFC, mileage may vary depending on how you removed the baffles.
