I think it's time for me to share my reef that's been running for about 9 months now. My original idea for this tank was to have it running with Biopellets, but the result wasn't what I was looking for and I lost many coral and fish during this time. I am unsure whether the BP was the cause or not, but I had the last straw when the tank went through a semi-crash for the 3rd time. The biopellets were removed and the sand bed was replaced because I wanted to minimize the likelihood of any problems coming back. Later, I considered running Fauna Marin's UltraLith system because it gave me incredible results 3 years ago in my previous tank, so I dove back into it.
Two months into it and my tank is as stable as can be. Here's my tank info:
Tank: Miracles Rimless 67g (36" x 24" x 18")
Sump: Basic sump with 3 baffles
Return: Tunze 1073.040
Heating: Finnex HPS 300w
Filtration: GFO and Carbon in BRS Reactor
Skimmer: Fauna Marin UltraSkim 2
Circulation: 2x Tunze 6105
Lighting: Maxspect G2 170w
Controller: Profilux 3ex
ATO: Profilux driven via optical switch
Dosing: Fauna Marin Balling Lite Method via GHL Doser
I just bought myself a Tamron 90mm Macro lens for my D40 and I'm still getting use to it, here are some pictures from it:
I should point out that I am not to experienced when it comes to the identification of zoos and palys. There are so many names out there that, it's easy to loose track of what is what. If anyone cares to take a shot at an ID, that'd be great. I know I have fruit loop zoos and that's about it...
