So I was showing off ELOS aquariums to my fiancee and she said "I don't want a 20 gallon, if we get one, you should get at least a 36 gallon." I do believe my fiancee has contracted the saltwater fever from me. :D

Does anyone have experience with ELOS aquariums?

Not at all lol I'm a parameters and read on how to improve my tank never realy looked at fancy show tanks besides some of the locals reefs

Don't hesitate, place the order before she can change her mind!

Good choice on showing an Elos to her. Getting wife approval or in this case fiancee is important. She will want you to spend more money to get a nicer set up since it will be in HER living room. My wife wants me to have a nice tank for her to look at and doesn't mine be spending money to get it there. That is what you want to have happen. :)

I plan to order as soon as we're in the new place.

My fiancee, said you know exactly what she's thinking and that you've been where we are now. :p

Once she likes the tank buying stuff for it becomes easy. She will only want nice things in the tank. [emoji3][emoji106]

She wants corals (lords), red knobbed starfish, pair of clownfish (haven't agreed on what type), and a 'fish that looks like Dory'.

I'm not saying don't spend the money but a smaller tank such as a 36 gallon would need more time and attention for parameters and could only house around 5 small fish

I had the 200xl but unfortunately lost it to sandy so now i have a redsea reefer witch is around half the price

Blue regal and hippo tangs need a minimum of 75 gallons
Hippos unfortunately need a much larger tank than 75 gallons....more like 150+ due to their 1' maximum size (although all of the people keeping them in smaller tanks will argue until the end of time :) )

I have an Elos Mini which I love (all sps). My only complaint.....I'm not wild about Elos sumps. They are definitely unconventional in the way they run. It does work, but doing it over I would buy the tank only and a go with a aftermarket sump. I'll most likely replace the Elos sump and skimmer someday. Something to think about before you place your order.

Elos is definitely a top quality tank and on my radar when I upgrade to over 100 gallons. In my opinion I would check out cadlights artisan series. Same look at fraction of the cost.

I have the elos 160xl, love my tank .
