Okay, now that I have time, allow me to give a run down and history of the reason I chose this aquarium.
4 years ago, I purchased a biocube for my son, who was to be born in February. The biocube was a perfect choice for the nursery. As fate would have it, Dylan was called home and did not survive long after birth, which devastated me. Months after Dylan passed away, I decided to get rid of the tank to ease the "reminders" of could have beens for the wife and I. Shortly after that, my wife and I separated and eventually divorced. I have been in the hobby for quite some time and have always had a tank but a biocube has been calling me recently. This tank is a closure for me, but a sweet reminder of my baby boy. And this folks, is why I chose a biocube.
Now about the tank and equipment. I think I'm keeping this one pretty simple. Since Coralife ditched the Oceanic name, they made se pretty nice changes to the set up, to include LED supplement lights. You can run a total of 15 LEDs in conjunction with the 2 PC bulbs.
I have an inline UV sterilizer on this tank and will be using an InTank Media Basket. If there is room, I will be running a Santa Monica UAS on it as well. As for flow, I had a spare MP10 that will be pushing the water.
I am also running a Reef Keeper Lite on it. The tank will be started from scratch, ie: dry sand and dry rock. I will use cycled tank water and fresh RO to get it going.
Other than that...that's it. Simple and to the point. No skimmer, reactors or crazy expensive lights. Now, here is the pics.
