Reflecting on high dollar frags

Wow...awesome ideas and a great way to promote this hobby. I'm not sure if any of my local reefers would be down for this but it's a great idea.

One of the Toledo reef clubs does that too (traccentral.org) but we are too small to get much going at any one time. We extended it to just about anything aquarium related,
have an old pump that works but maybe a little long in the tooth pass it on when someone is in an emergency need.

Its a great way for less experienced keepers to meet those with some success behind them. (I didn't want to say old LOL)

Here is my thoughts for this site's pay it forward if we are so inclinded (works better if you are local but the mail can be fine too)

The here is a frag of a great starter zoa, keep it like this , with those lights ect. when you get more than a few polyps let me know and I will show you how to frag it and pass it on to someone else. Down the road the newbie and their mentor can trade back and forth to balance each others collections etc. Life long pals from a simple act of kindness

Oh and is it too late to get that free frag ???

Those are really great ideas!

I have never sold a coral to anybody and I always either give away or trade. I think everyone just has to do their part. We all buy corals and some are able and willing to spend larger amounts for these amazing corals where others cannot (some then turn around and sell for even larger amounts). I buy what I like for a price I am willing/able to pay and trade where I can for what I can. I may never be able to aquire some of the elite zoos, but I enjoy what I do have everytime I look in my tank.

Hopkins was 1st (after our fearless leader graciously backed down) technicaly speaking, they would be his/hers. If Hopkins is not interested, "anomie: Raises hand slowly...." anomie would get them.

LOL! Yes I admit that blue had my head turned for a moment! :hammer:

Great Job Leishman, I will be able to do the same next spring when my students work is done, I am sure that I will have plenty to trade/pass on to newbies.

A little bit later this summer I will be asking for help with id's I am way too new into zoas to be saying the names of some of these guys. I am not sure what is a slight color morph from what is a different variety.
I am guess that we have between 10-15 different varieties to test with
the ligting tests will begin in August before school starts and go through Christmas then we will be looking at suppliemental feedings.

I think some good stuff will be coming out of our lab this year.

Great job getting the ball rolling on the "share the wealth" idea. Maybe we could get a little thread going with some basic rules of the road and a list of donors
