Having just started I was getting frustrated with the hydrometer. Was giving me different readings every time and felt like an idiot and sure that i was doing something wrong.

Picked up a refractometer and man oh man what a difference. So much easier and some much more accurate.

One less stress in my life.

For sure! I used to Calibrate mine every time I used it. Now I just make sure my new water matches the old and check the calibration every month or so. Good thing hasn’t needed adjusting, it’s rusted.

I like the match new to old... add to list of things to do. Less calibration.

As long as your calibrating to .35 solution your all good.

Got lazy one time and started to zero mine out with RO/DI. I thought ;Cow my display was at 1.025 but when I got a new bottle of the Two Little Fishes natural .35 seawater solution, my display was really at 1.021 ;Sour

Want to calibrate a meter with the closet solution that you measure to :)

Once your calibration is right. You could mix a fresh batch of new saltwater and then you can store it in small bottles for future meter calibration solution, but... my reef is at the mercy of the TLF's .35 being correct ;Wacky
