Refractometer question

So I finally decided to get a refractometer and it came today. When I was testing it out I saw that when you are looking through the lens it says 20c. Is that the temperature of the water you have to test or can you change that temperature?

put your water sample on the lens and let it sit for a few seconds to adjust temp and youre good.
