No. Mine lives in the fridge for a couple of months before I use it to start another culture.

If it ain't broke, fix it till it is.
Be sure to shake once a day while in fridge, help keep it from settling and will survive for awhile.
Mine will start a new culture after being in fridge, so not dead. Depends on how long though. You supposedly can store it up to 6 months.

You can certainly use it as it looks pretty good. Maybe a day will not hurt to get it really dense. I would take out half and add water back in with some food and let it grow again.

Not dead, but make sure you shake it pretty often. Daily is nice, but at least once a week. I've gone longer without shaking and it was still alive, used it to start my current grow, but shaking it is best.
