Refuge and sump

If you have a refuge does this check the amount of water changes or not and how do u dot it?
Do u change the water in the tank and the refuge or just the tank?

Sumps and refugias are tied into the main system. The water change you do in the main system carries into the secondary.
Water changes according to gallonage is an individual decision. Most smaller systems see changes of 5-10 gallon changes.

So if I had a 220 with a 55 gallon sump I would still have to do 50% water changes every 2 weeks or so
