Refugium Advice

Hi

I have a 245 L tank and have just purchased a finnex HOB refugium...

would just like some advice on setting it up

I run 2 canister filters and no sump... so figured a hang on refugium would be useful

Any pointers would be greatly appreciated and if you need any more info about my setup .. happy to add more !

Should be pretty straight forward. How old is your tank? If it's new, then starting a fuge may end in disappointment.
The key things to start with are, clean chaeto, an adequate light and run it opposite of the display. Not much more than that. Here's a video that BRS just put out and it's worth a watch.

It’s new ... been up just over a month

added the first lot of fish recently

I’m in no real rush to set it up but though it would be useful for the future ?

I think you can set it up now and wait to add chaeto until you have a consistent reading of NO3 & PO4. Just get the water flowing through it and keep the light off. Watch the vid, there's a lot of good points.
