I have a refugium that I trow chaeto in. What would be a good algae I can also grow to feed my pbt?

Funny, Monday I have an led fuge light with a lot of red. Still may give it a try. I think my pbt would like some fresh algaE for a change of diet.

Red is a common color for grow lights. Plants thrive on it.
Since red plants reflect red light I have found they grow better under blue lights. Green plants do great under red lights.

If I remember it mostly red mixed in with a little bit of blue that does best. You could be right about red plants really not sure.

Edit: it's Blue and green for red plants

Gracilaria and ulva are probably the two best choices as stated above. Some tangs will also eat chaeto and certain caulerpa as well. I’m sure I’m missing a few species too.

I understand some people have a fear of Caleurpa, but I grow that in our refugium and our Purple Tang loves it.
