guys....right now i am running my system without a refugium (its a long story but i overlooked my sump when i purchased it) in any case i am now looking to set up a refugium....the catch it that i have to set it up outside of my tank....i cant replace my sump without having to drain about half the tank and pulling it out from the rear of the stand (cross beam dead center of the stand)....that will be a big head ache that i am not in the mood to tackle right now.

my question to all is.....do you have a diagram or a pic of somebody else that has done this? i need something so that i can have a "vision" of what needs to be done. gravity comes to my mind <--am i on the right track?

i have a 72gal tank and i was going to use a 30gal tank as my refugium (its my reef tank that's just sitting in the basement) that should be large enough right?

your thoughts would be greatly appreciated...the rough dimensions are 48x18x22 (tank) and about 28" high for the stand...in case folks wanted to know

Of the 30 is drilled or you add an overflow box you can raise the 30 a little above your sump. Have your tank overflow into the refugium then overflow into your sump. You can have your sump overflow into your fuge too.

its not drilled so i will have to as i am not looking to purchase an overflow box.....so....tank ontop refugium in the middle then below to the sump? thats what i was thinking but plumbing was confusing me....i want it to look neat without having hose/pvc running around all over....
