Refugium drains

For everyone drawing straight to a refugium how are your drains setup going into the fuge? Just straight down into the water or a elbow at the top? How are they setup? Pictures would be awesome!

This is how I set mine up, can't find cheato yet so it runs empty for now. But it's an elbow pointing downwards for tumbling current. My refugium run's directly off my main siphon drain which was a little pain to dial in but now it's set I'm pretty happy with it. And my drain from the refugium is a horizontal pipe with teeth cut out along with a T and 90° elbow at the other end so if the teeth get clogged it won't over flow with the open drains the T/90 create.
