My chaeto grows very well under just plain 5 k spots from Home Depot. I have 2 mounted about 2 “ off the surface.

Do you have a pic of your setup? What are your phosphate levels?

I harvested some chaeto on Saturday and took it to my local LFS. The P04 was .009 with a Hannah ULR. I dose N03 twice a week to keep it between 2.5 & 7.

This is what I use....Chaeto also needs Iron are you dosing any kind of trace element? I use Chaeto grow

+1 to the comments earlier re the Tunze submerisible. I love it -- the magnetic mount makes it super practical too.

No I used the other Bottle product for bryopsis but had removed it via activated carbon early because my algae eating fish were getting skinny.


Bryopsis already started growing back so I know it’s not in there anymore.

the light is a 50w light for growing vegetables and plants

Well there’s ya problem... Bottled algae killers don’t discriminate, any plant is gonna be killed.
