Quick questuon.....

I have sump chamber with chaeto, lighting is 10w led flood 6500k, chaeto grows great.

Can i add some royal blue 3w leds, for example 3x3w (9w total) to existing light, to get some blue spectrum, and use this part of sump to grow chaeto and to house some frags, mushrooms, softies etc. for a week or two to let them attach themself, in dt this is very problematic, flow is too strong, crabs constantly turns over smaller rock....

Main question is, will these added blue leds in combination with 6500k be sufficient to temporary grow frags, and more important, will adding of blue light will mess with my chaeto growth?

Your white light already has blue spectrum. White light is a combination of all spectrums. The extra blue is actually good for plant growth..so you might actually see additional cheato growth (ie watch your nutrient levels).

Only way to know if they are sufficient is either rent a par meter or wait and see. Too many factors not explained for anyone to give you guidance.

Main thing is not to mess with chaeto growth, if theres benefits, great, as long i dont something that will stun chaeto growth....

Bump your nutrients a little and you should be fine.

Ill try and see is there any influence on chaeto/frag growth from using additional royal blue.....
