Refugium Health

I'm thinking about doing a Refugium "make over." Right now I have rubble and marine pure blocks in my refugium, but I was reading up if it is worth putting some Fiji mud or similar products in there. Any opinions or experience on this?

i always go with the KISS approach. I think the mud was a fade a few years back. I think adding a few reactors would be a better approach.
