Refugium help!

i want to setup a small refugium. I have a Red Sea reefer 525xl. Currently all I have in the sump is a skimmer and a brs carbon reactor. My question is will I need to set up a separate section using some sort of baffle? Or can I just add some chaeto and get a light?

Your best bet is a separate chamber. Reason being is if you put your chaeto or algae in the same chamber as your skimmer or return pump there is a higher risk of it getting sucked into your pumps and clogging them up, making them need to be cleaned out more frequently. But there are a handful of readers who run algae in the same chamber as their skimmer and pump successfully
