Refugium help

I cannot seem to keep chaeto alive in my refugium.
I have tried a couple different lights, I run it on a reverse cycle as my tank. I have tweaked it up and down from 9 hours to 14 hour cycles.
No matter what the chaeto will slowly disintegrate and dwindle down.

Anything I should be doing or trying or not doing?

What are your parameters and nutrients? You may need to dose trace elements like iron and others to make it grow.

Are you running a skimmer? If so it might be pulling nutrients faster than the chaeto can absorb them
