Welcome to R2R! If you mean the chamber with the return pump, putting a refugium in there is not a popular idea. It could easily clog the return pump and that is the chamber that fluctuates with evaporation.

Let see a pic of your refugium. Isn't the third chamber were the return pump is? Welcome to R2R!
sorry i took so long, this was a pic from when this post was made, it has a piece of foam in the bottom to keep any of the algae growing that deep down into the chamber so it won’t clog my pump either. extra pics are the tank now.

Welcome!

Oh that looks really interesting! I just started a pretty small refugium area in the second chamber myself, the third is just too full with heater, pump and the ATO glug jug. Suppose they could be switched around but I like the InTank media basket making it easy to reach everything.

It's not a 13.5, but it's my Nuvo 20. I put added the refugium to that space about a week ago. I am looking for comparisons on chaeto growth rates. I am going to add a little bit of lettuce to it in the next couple days also. I am curious if this is enough space to do the trick. I have been looking at HOB refugium's and it would appear that are some great options that in fact would fit, and would free up some space in the chambers.
