Refugium in JBJ 45 Worth It

I’m rebooting my JBJ 45 to be a nem office tank. I am thinking of adding a refugium for the right two overflow baffles. Would this provide any meaningful nutrient export along with my skimmer or would it be more worthwhile to do something else?

It will work if you have enough nutrients to remove. Once you put the refugium and skimmer together they both will remove quite quickly. So remember to watch your N03 and P04 so it doesn’t bottom out.

if you are already running a skimmer -- I would set thank up first -- check parameters as the tank gets more established. from there you can decide if it is warranted based on bioload etc. to me due to the size of the AIO compartments, that's a lot of work for maybe not much of a return since you already have a skimmer
