Okay so I am going to work on my refugium again. I originally had a sand with live rock and chaeto but removed the sand when it got to much. Since then I have made an egg crate box with just live rock and some chaeto floating around. I want to rebuild one last time with the thoughts of pods growing in mind. I am thinking that I am going to put some sand back in and just place a few pieces of live rock in it. Then I am going to let the chaeto free float. Currently I do have a small pump in there but can remove or leave as recommended. Also I am very OCD about it looking nice and organized if not then I go way to overboard. Now my skimmer section is before the center and the walll has an opening on the bottom. Need to figure out how to keep things in the refugium as I may put some snails in there too. Then I have an over flow/bubble trap and am trying to keep pieces of chaeto from going in there. After that I have my return pump which feed into GFO and Carbon reactors. Again I would like to get it to the point I don’t need to run GFO but the question here is how do I keep things from going into the skimmer section, best build for copepods as the forefront of thought, and keeping it clean/organized. Any help would be very appreciated.
