i have a biocube 29 and would like to put a refugium in the back compartment. I have read where people have scraped the black off the back for the light. I cannot scrape any of the black off. Any ideas on how to light a refugium? Thanks

You can look for the little waterproof freshwater led lights. They're like little tubes.

I'm using a submersible LED from ebay. So far my HOB refugium is doin' good full of chaeto.

I have an Oceanic BC29 with the all black background and I thought I couldn't scrape the back either. I ended up using a bunch of sharp utility razor blades and although it took some elbow grease, I was finally able to scrape off a perfect rectangle to accommodate the JBJ nano glo fuge light.

I actually like all black background of the older biocubes better than the newer all clear back biocubes as the black helps in cutting out light spill from the fuge lights into the room from the back of the tank.

Hi everyone, any update? I am looking for the submersible light for my chamber on a biocube. Some of the links don’t work, I see there is a nano jbj light but wanted to consider any other options. Some other seem to give off too much heat.

Thank you! How did you mount it to the back, a hang on? If you have time for a pic that would be great :)

I don't have a pic handy, but for me my tank is up against a counter so I have just the light sitting here. If I didn't I would buy a couple of those 3m command Velcro strips and mount it that way. Those things are amazing. I had to clear a little more of the black paint off the back but it's working well. That JBJ light puts out mostly yellow, but the experts say that this redish light is far better for plant growth. FWIW it has a nice quality cord and off switch inline.

https://www.amazon.com/Command-Pict...=1525286475&sr=8-1&keywords=command+3m+velcro I used these on all my controllers and such now. Easy to pull something off temporality and easier to remove altogether.

I forgot about those hangars!! I used them to mount a camera. Thank you so much for being so helpful. Ordering now :)
