Refugium light

Hiya
I use a hang on refugium wih a Aquaray 1500 Ultima does the light work better on the top or on the side I feel if it’s on the side it will be to much light

On top will make it easier to clean but the side will cover more area

Gotta when its on the side it does put alot more stress onto the support

On top.
Better to light the water surface directly than through glass or acrylic.
Some UV wavelenths are blocked by some plastics.
