so im adding a 100 gal fuge to my system and am stuck with what lighting to use. the tank is 48in x 24in x 25.5in. the actual refugium space will be 34.5in x 24in x 20in. so my questions are what is the best way to light it..... mh, T5, Led, NO? then my next question is what will be the most energy efficient while being the best lighting for my macroalgea?
also does anyone use red/white led for their refugium....how are results and where in the hell do you get the fixture? thanks
i really want to do leds but am not looking to use my tank as the guinea pig hahaha

I would go with a couple 250w 6500k bulbs but for energy efficiency I'd go with 6 by 54w t5 and use all GE bulbs to be in the warmer spectrum!

One or two 54w t5 bulbs (with reflectors) would probably be enough to get your macro algae to grow. You don't need a ton of light, but more is probably better. I just use cabinet lighting on mine, but it is not nearly as big as yours.

thanks for input. i will go T5 but the heat output when compared to led is pretty big i think so i really want to go led. no one has any experience in this?
