With so many options out their and LEDS invading the market faster than you can say, Acropora, I want to know which type or brand of lighting are you using on your refugium?
Would you buy the unit again or does something else catch your eye?!

Hamilton 55w 10k compact fluorescent in one and Hamilton 35w 10k in theother, i would not change from 10k and pc, the maker i dont care if its Hamilton or xxx ?

I have been running pcs, but the bulb went out. I got an itch to try a small led, so I went and picked up a marine life single bright LEDs. So far, I haven't noticed a difference with my micro algae.

I have 3x24W T5 over my fuge... 2 6.5K and a blue plus, thinking of dropping the Blue + for another 6.5K.

I am using a CFL daylight R30 flood light. It's 5000k and has a built in reflector, a 2 pack is less than $10

I use a 23w R40 cfl bulb, 120w equivalent. It's a 5100k range.

Took me a while to find the right bulb. My Cheato grows out of control. I have to trim out 1/2 every 2-3 weeks.
Correct spectrum (5000k) and enough wattage is the key.

Home depot part# 567-265

i use a marineland single bright led fixture
i found a shop going out and bought 6 of them new for $15.00 each they work well for the fuge

par 30 5k bulb from home depot 2 bulb's have 5 leds the other on my 29 has a single led flood light i trim about every 3 days.

Good Score at fifteen dollars; I am really surprised at the lack of refugium light options, do you have any pictures of your fuge set up.

I use dc powered 18w pc lights recycled from an old camper. small car battery and a solar battery maintainer

within the next year or so my tank will be solar

Thats a wonderful Idea; I have been kicking around some similar ideas using different forms of available alternative energy. Another reason why its taking so long to plan any sort of build upgrade to my 40 breeder. Post some pictures for the audience if you have any!

Also, those using prefab units I would like to know which units your using and why, look forward to some photos
