The title pretty much says it all. What brand of light would people suggest for my refugium for growing chaeto? I am not looking for something that looks pretty or is meant to be a display light. I am purely looking some suggestions for optimal lighting to grow chaeto in a refugium.

Check out UFO grow lights on amazon. They can be gotten for 50 bucks and work great!

This is what I got and been rock solid for several yrs so far, caulerpa growing well. Only negative is it needs to be hung and is a bit large. Still well worth it for the $

How do you hang them? Since i checked and there doesnt seem to be any mounts available for them.

It depends on your display tank lighting. You need lighting in the refugium that can compete with the display. If your display tank lighting is only bright enough so you can see your fish, even a compact fluorescent light will probably be enough. But if you are growing intense light loving acropora, you need a powerful light that can compete with your tank lighting.

I use led bulbs from Lowes in the 5k color range and a clamp-on fixture. $10- $14
