Refugium Macro algae competing with Corals

Today is the first day I have looked at my tank healthy in weeks. Battling the slime disease was a horror. I finally found out how to treat it and rasped all the GHA off. It was SO GOOD to wake up to this tank this morning! You have no idea. I am so happy I can just look at it without worry.

My 75 was like that after month 2 I set it up. But as long as you control nutrients you can get a grip on it.

it seems like your chem would already be competing or removing more nutrients than the refugium. it seems a mixed method.

Yea it's a mixed method, that was my plan. Your referring to the GFO and Carbon? I don't currently have GFO running, only as needed. I do run Carbon (ROX) and dose NOPOX at 2ml daily (really just for therapeutic reasons. I feel my skimmer and fuge do the bulk of the work. I just removed about 2-3 gallons of Cheato from my fuge last night. To me, that seems considerable and the point here for me is a better understanding of the biology. Not to solve a problem because currently, I don't really have one.
